As you all know if you read my blog, the first of this month I was able to attend the Scentsy convention up in ID. I had a chance to meet this man. He is the dad to Heidi. Heidi and Orville are the President's of Scentsy. We were on the final day of convention. We were able to take a tour of the warehouse and see how scentsy products are made. Before you went down, since they were only taking a small group at a time, we sat in a room. The room was on the top floor and was fairly large. We were all waiting our turn. Fred was playing the ukelei the whole time, mostly Hawiian songs. Then a tune started to play that I was familiar with. Then he started to sing and it was so pretty. He sang "We thank Thee O God for a Prophet." The room started to quiet down a little. His wife was sitting in front of us and told us that he thought he was at a church function. I sat and listened to him and tears started to come to my eyes. Here we were a bunch of crazy convention goin' women....probably half not even LDS. I am sure that there were some executives sweating this one out. The song was over and Fred said that he wanted to sing it in Hawiian. It was even better. When the song was over the room was fairly quiet. He bore his testimony about the church. He said that his wish was that the missionaries would find those who were in that room who were not yet members and teach them the gospel. He then sang with his ukelei "God be with you till we meet again." It was one of the most incredible things that I have seen. Chills ran up and down my arms as my testimony was strengthened. What a neat man. I have to say that it was the thing that I will remember most about convention. I was spritually fed. Thanks Fred!!
